The Ninth House is the house of wisdom and a great place for me to say a few words about my teacher ….

Pandit Sanjay Rath comes from Puri, in Orissa, India, where his family lineage traces back to Shri Achyuta Das, a seminal 16th century mystic, astrologer and poet. His grandfather was the “Jyotish Ratna” (Official/Royal Astrologer!) of Orissa and wrote many books on the subject. Sanjay studied under the strict tutelage of his uncle, Pandit Kasinath Rath. He has also written many books not only on astrology, but on a wide range of sacred Indian literature as well. I can only describe studying with him as similar to studying wizardry at Hogwarts. He is from another world and the depth of his mastery is off the charts. He effortlessly connects the ancient fundamentals of astrology with both their mythical underpinnings AND the realities and needs of the modern world. His teaching is as challenging as it is inspiring. In my astrology practice my only aim to be faithful to what I have learned from him, and to transmit as much of it as I can. Humbly, I give thanks.
